FAQs

Who can participate?

Any age child who has not entered kindergarten may participate.

Can we count books from before we started the program?

Any books read AFTER you register for the program count towards your child’s 1,000 books.

What books count?

ALL of them! Books read to your child by a parent, teacher, sister, uncle, dog:), grandpa, and even audiobooks after they’ve registered count toward the 1000 books goal.

What if we read a book more than once?

That’s wonderful! Repetition is great for learning! You can count it as many times as you read it. (Even if that means 50 times!)

Can we print our own reading log pages?

You sure can!

Does my child earn prizes?

They do! For every 100 books read, bring the reading log to the library so we can celebrate with your child and give them a special sticker and a book (for a total of 10 books).

After they get to 1000, they will get their picture taken and put on display in the library and on Facebook (if desired).
